ABOUT US
Inspiring Bright Minds
Welcome from the Director
Heritage House Montessori Centre (HHMC) was established in 1998, out of my passion to reform the teaching methods and curriculum employed in the Early Childhood sector in Nigeria, having gone through a full Montessori programme, taught children in a multi-cultural environment, and convinced that the same principles can be well-adapted to suit my environment, especially since the norms of development for children are not dictated by culture. I had a desire to fill the gap for the dearth of training platforms to train specialized teachers for Early Childhood Education in Nigeria, and specifically to share the unparalleled knowledge from Dr. Maria Montessori’s Philosophy of Education for young children, a method of education that has stood the test of time, and is still very much relevant for today, because of the science behind it.
Today, that passion has given birth to Heritage House Montessori Center (HHMC), an independent Montessori Teacher Training Center, accredited by MACTE (Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education, USA) to train teachers in the Montessori method of education for children aged 0-3 years (Infant & Toddler) and 3-6 years (Early Childhood). HHMC is the first internationally accredited training institute for Montessori Method of education in Nigeria, and indeed West Africa.
Our programmes are thorough, well researched, constantly reviewed to reflect current ideas in the field, and internationally seasoned in content with local flavour, to enable our graduates fit perfectly into whatever environment they find themselves. Our faculty comprises of well-seasoned and qualified Montessori trainers, with a vast wealth of experience in teaching both children and adult learners within multi-cultural environments.
Developing the creative and thinking skills of children is an essential factor for success in learning for now and the future. This is why our teacher education programmes at Heritage House Montessori Center (HHMC) have been committed to coaching and producing teachers who can help children harness their skills and maximize their potentials.
If you are considering working with young children, a parent, or seeking an alternative lifestyle or change of career, and desire a convenient and stress-free study option, be assured that enrolling on one of our courses is the best decision you can take!
